Dot Day
Displaying 20140221_105129.jpg  Dots drawn on one of the three different mediums we used in class this being construction paper, in all of these works we used oil based crayons, water color crayons and water color paints.
Displaying 20140221_105134.jpg In this photo we used the same kind of supplies to make the finished product.  What i liked is that the coffee filter allowed for the water colors to bleed throw while the oil based colors didnt budge.
Displaying 20140221_105138.jpg This piece of work was made by using the same materials and some markers that you can see in the picture.  This surface was simalar to the first one in the sense it didnt allow the colors to bleed but completley different in the fact that the colors didnt grab ahold of it like it did the regular paper.

I really enjoyed the dot activity.  For one i never thought it was possible to use all different kinds of colors and 2 I was not aware the fact that there are so many different kinds of crayons and paints out there on the market.  I really liked that every different color did something else as well.  Even if the different crayons said they were the same color they looked totally different.  For my extension to this activity i would have my students make a frame out of brown construction paper and make there own frame so, we could have our own art show on dots, later on in class.

Displaying IMAG0107.jpgThe picture here is showing emphasis, the emphasis in this photo is the soda bottle, as that stands out and everything else is back round.

Displaying 20140214_084734.jpgThe photo here shows texture.  Look at the bark on the tree and think about how that would feel if you rubbed your hand against it.

Displaying 20131222_093518.jpg The picture here is of the ocean waves crashing into the beach this Christmas Break at Daytona Beach Florida.  This picture shows movement as you can clearly see the whitecaps on the water coming in.

Displaying 20140214_084756.jpg The picture here is of the outside bricks of my house.  This picture shows pattern and geometrical symmetry.  Also this is a good example of contrast as the bricks on top are substantially more worn than the ones on the bottom.

Displaying 20140213_221623.jpg  The picture shown here is of lines.  This picture was taken at my work.  Follow the lines and it leads you in the direction that the black and yellow lines flow.

I would use the footprint activity in any classroom and i think that it is a great introduction, and allows students to get out of there normal routine of entroducing themselves.  I really enjoyed making this footprint becuase its not everyday that students get to use scissors and glue and crayons.  This activity was a nice little break from the ho hum of everyday school and would be a great way to break the ice in any classroom.
